UK Undergraduate Housing: Damage Appeals

After thoroughly reviewing the damage information, if you believe you can demonstrate that you should not be assessed a particular charge, you may appeal that charge. Appealing a charge is your opportunity to explain why you believe our records are inaccurate.

If you choose to file an appeal, you should pay charges first to avoid being assessed a late payment fee. Late payment fees are assessed on all unpaid student account balances. Check your student account balance prior to submitting payment to confirm amount due. Remit payment to Student Account Services through your student account via myUK. If you prefer to send a check, include the student ID on the memo line and remit to the following address:

Student Account Services
18 Funkhouser Building
Lexington, KY 40506-0005

Online appeals will be reviewed by the Damage Appeals Committee as they are received. Appeals cannot be made over the phone or via email.
Once an appeal is received, the Damage Appeals Committee will review all related documentation and respond in writing. Appeals will be responded to within 30 days of your online submittal.
